Erdal Rakip to Crystal Palace seems a very real thing.

Earlier on Thursday, Sport Witness covered a claim from Portuguese newspaper A Bola which stated the midfielder is joining Palace until the end of the season, and now there’s some back-up.

Since then another Portuguese newspaper, O Jogo, have also reported it independently.

They explain Rakip has joined Benfica after the end of his Malmo contract and has signed a contract for five and a half seasons. The first six months of that contract, or at least until the end of the season, will be spent at Crystal Palace.

Over in Sweden, Aftonbladet are also covering the move. They report Ekdal is currently in London with his agent Hasan Cetinkaya, and in the morning the 21 year old will have a medical with Crystal Palace.

Over at Expressen, also in Sweden, it’s reported Crystal Palace are working to sign 28 year old Robin Olsen from FC Copenhagen.

The goalkeeper’s agent is quoted as saying: “There are clubs in the Premier League who are interested in Robin.”

The agent’s name? Hasan Cetinkaya.

The agent link could be the reason behind Palace’s signing of Rakip, because it certainly seems a strange one.

Asked by Expressen today if it’s true he was heading for a meeting with Crystal Palace, Cetinkaya replied: “No comment.”

Cetinkaya’s company also represents players including Victor Lindelof, Emil Forsberg and Riza Durmisi, so he’s not a bad friend to have and is certainly well established.
