Yann M’Vila is somehow still with Rubin Kazan, despite trying to leave the club on several occasions.
Signing in 2013, M’Vila has been on loan to Sunderland and Inter Milan, almost joining each of those clubs permanently, and has been linked with a long list of others.
Making the best of what has seemed a bad situation at times, M’Vila extended his contract in December meaning he’s now contracted until June 2020, although there’s sure to be disagreement along the way.
If QPR had got their way then M’Vila would have arrived at Loftus Road, and from there the midfielder’s career could have been very different indeed, if initially not as lucrative.
Speaking to Real Noevremya, M’Vila was asked why he chose Rubin over QPR, and explained: “Then the British club was headed by Harry Redknapp. Indeed, there was interest from his team. In Paris in one of the hotels I met with representatives of Rubin and QPR. And also with Redknapp and Berdiyev.
M’Vila still has hopes of playing for the France national team again, and even signing for a big club in Western Europe… although that contract until 2020 could prove a problem in that respect.
