Manchester United delivered disappointing news on Friday as they confirmed Christian Eriksen suffered an injury when playing against Reading in the FA Cup.

A very poor tackle from Andy Carroll left the Denmark international on the ground, and the Red Devils have said he’s likely to be out until the end of April, potentially the beginning of May.

That saw Erik ten Hag’s side move into the market to try and find a replacement, and they quickly turned to Marcel Sabitzer.

The Austrian isn’t as prominent at Bayern Munich as he’d like to be, and that helped the deal quickly get off the ground.

Sabitzer flew to Manchester on Tuesday evening, and then traveled to Carrington. Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has now tweeted ‘Medical now’, saying the player is undergoing tests at Manchester United’s training ground.

The Bayern Munich player’s agent is quoted as saying: “The most unpleasant person to be around when he’s not playing. He hates it when he loses. That’s the bottom line. Character-wise, the kid is a killer. That’s what players who always want to win look like.”

Sabitzer is moving to Old Trafford on a loan deal, and there’s not thought to be a purchase option included.
