Here’s one more Spanish outlet reporting that Ilias Akhomach is leaving Barcelona for Leeds United this summer.

Today it’s Marca who claims that after weeks of talks, it’s now just a ‘matter of time’ until the player’s move to Elland Road is made official.

The outlet makes it clear the agreement isn’t closed yet, but the ‘bases are laid’ for his switch to Leeds to be confirmed.

Marca claims that Barcelona, who are seeing the 19-year-old leave for free, even tried to renew his contract, as they wanted him to continue at the club.

Akhomach, however, didn’t accept the conditions, and was aware that he could find new opportunities in the Premier League.

It’s claimed that Arsenal were also keen on signing the teenager, but the player himself chose Leeds and ‘will end up’ at Elland Road.

The player’s choice to move to the Whites had already been reported by Catalan outlets Sport and Mundo Deportivo this week, so that’s now three of the four major Spanish media outlets (we’re just missing AS) making it clear that the move is becoming a reality.

Now we’ll see if the player will wait until the end of the season to announce it.
