Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is interested in a reunion with former Ajax protégé Ryan Gravenberch as he looks increasingly likely to leave Bayern Munich in the summer.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the Red Devils are one of three sides looking at a deal for the Dutchman.

They explain that Gravenberch is annoyed with his situation at the Allianz Arena after barely featuring this season following his move from Ajax last summer.

Several clubs are aware of this frustration, particularly in the Premier League, and Manchester United are one of them.

They know that Gravenberch is ‘seriously questioning’ his future with the German giants and would be more than willing to reunite him with Ten Hag at Old Trafford.

That’s because the Manchester United manager ‘knows him off by heart’, having handed him his debut in the Eredivisie in September 2018 and made him a central part of their success under him before his move to Manchester.

Their interest does not ‘surprise anyone’ but Gravenberch needs to speak to Bayern before deciding on what he will do.

He is ‘thirsty’ for regular playing time and does not want to spend next season sat on the bench like he has this year.

If they can’t give him what he wants he will depart, and Ten Hag is ready to welcome him with open arms to Manchester United if he does.
