It appears that despite spending €8.5m on Facundo Pellistri a few years ago, Manchester United still aren’t ready to use him in the first-team.

Already sent on loan twice to Alaves over the past couple of seasons, the right winger hasn’t managed to fully convince Erik ten Hag that he can provide anything in the short-term, which is why a new temporary deal is being sought.

This comes courtesy of journalist Fabián Bertolini, who took to Twitter to reveal the news that Manchester United ‘want to loan’ Pellistri out again.

Before they do that, however, they plan on renew his contract at Old Trafford, although whether the player agrees to that remains to be seen.

It’s added that it’s currently being ‘analysed’, we’re guessing by Pellistri and his entourage, ‘if it is best’ to sign a new contract.

As for the teams interested in the Manchester United forward, FC Twente in the Netherlands and Real Betis in Spain are mentioned.

Since arriving at Old Trafford from Peñarol in October of 2020, Pellistri has made a grand total of 10 appearances for the Red Devils, picking up one assist.
