Ahead of the release of FIFA 18 later this month, Paris Saint-Germain’s Thomas Meunier had a game or two with some journalists, which gave them the perfect opportunity to ask him a few questions about various things, including one of his favourite teams, Manchester United.

Already expressing his love for the Red Devils in the past, the Belgian right-back, who will know all about the club through his international teammates such as Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini, was asked who he normally played with when picking up a controller.

He told SFR Sport: “Paris Saint-Germain, of course, but that’s mostly to put myself up top. Other than that, Manchester.”

When pushed a bit further about which club he meant, Meunier added with a smile: “United. The real one. Because I’ve always been a Manchester fan.”

Since he brought up the Premier League side, the reporter then went on to ask him what he thought of what was going at Old Trafford these days, and the self-proclaimed fan admitted he was happy with what he was seeing.

He said: “They’ve really built a good team this year, especially Matic, who I would have really like to see join Paris Saint-Germain as he’s truly exceptional, and regarding the rest, they’ve got a very good manager, a very good group, a very good fanbase. They’re the perfect club. They’re really good.”

With Antonio Valencia not exactly getting any younger these days, and Thomas Meunier’s stock rising by the week in European football, perhaps the right-back is giving José Mourinho something to think about for the future?

After all, if Manchester United came knocking, it seems the defender would find it hard to say no.

First, though, you would have to convince Paris Saint-Germain.
