Manchester United are ‘pressing’ to sign AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori, according to Milan Web.

The Serie A side initially signed him on loan from Chelsea in 2021 before buying him later that year. Over the years, the centre-back has grown a lot in Italy and this seems to have not gone unnoticed in England.

Despite having a contract until 2027, the report states his time at the San Siro could come to an end ‘abruptly and rather unexpectedly’ in 2024.

Manchester United are named as an interested party and it’s explained that their pressing could ‘become increasingly stronger’ in the near future.

The report adds it’s unlikely the Red Devils would consider an approach next month, also because the Rossoneri have no intention to sell him in January.

Manchester United, however, could stand a chance to sign the 25-year-old next summer if they can offer him a ‘large salary’ and also convince the Italian club.

Milan Web state the England international has a ‘high valuation’ of at least around €40m. Stefano Pioli’s side may have to raise funds after this season and with Manchester United in the mix, they could ‘sacrifice’ their player.

Tomori has scored two goals from 20 appearances this season.
