Manchester United are today again being linked to Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby.

It’s been a year since the German media last reported the Red Devils’ interest in the 23-year-old, and it seems the pursuit is on again.

According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are ‘monitoring his situation’ at Bayer Leverkusen.

The Bundesliga side reportedly value him at between €70m and €80m. That’s because he has a contract until 2025 and is considered a ‘key player’ for manager Xabi Alonso.

It’s not yet known whether Manchester United will advance for the signing, as according to Plettenberg, the next moves will ‘depend on the club’s ‘ownership’.

Diaby has 14 goals and 11 assists in 47 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen this season. His good form is the reason why he’s been many times linked with a move to Newcastle United this year.

However, Plettenberg points out that the Magpies have not advanced with their interest in the past few months, and perhaps that means Manchester United have more of an open path to get him signed from the Bundesliga side at this moment.
