Manchester United’s interest in FC Dallas youngster Ricardo Pepi is a problem for Bologna, who are also keen on the forward.

That’s according to Il Resto del Carlino, relayed by 1000cuorirossoblu, who say Pepi is being courted by several top teams in Europe.

18-year-old Pepi is one of the rising stars of MLS and United States football, with 13 goals and two assists to his name in MLS this year.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Chelsea and Manchester City recently named among the clubs showing interest.

Manchester United are at the front of the queue, though, with it stated that they are ‘above all’ and have had scouts watching him ‘for some time’.

Il Resto del Carlino back that up, stating that Manchester United are ‘interested’ in Pepi, and that’s the ‘only problem’ standing in the way of Bologna getting him.

They need a forward as they’ll be losing Musa Barrow to the African Cup of Nations in January, and Pepi is the one they’d like after sounding him out in the summer.

At that point, Dallas resisted any efforts, but their season ends on November 8th, so negotiations can begin then.

The only problem is the competition for his signature, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Liverpool all among his suitors.
