In need of a new midfielder after the sale of Sergej Milinković-Savić, Lazio have suddenly turned their attention to Manchester United’s Fred.
That’s according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, who have an exclusive on the matter on Friday afternoon, around the same time as news has emerged that Galatasaray are also trying hard to get the Brazilian.
The Italian website claim that an ‘incoming offer’ is on its way to Manchester United from the Serie A side for the player.
It’s explained that the interest came after the midfielder was ‘offered’ to the Italians, and so happens to be one Maurizio Sarri would ‘welcome with open arms’ in Rome.
Lazio have the Growth Decree up their sleeve, meaning they can offer him a nice contract without worrying too much about tax, and Fred is said to have taken note of the interest from the Italians.
In fact, he’s ‘attracted’ about the idea of a move to Italy, and has got in touch with some of his compatriots at the club (read the likes of Felipe Anderson) through his entourage, who have all given him ‘all positive reviews’.
With Champions League football to offer, he wouldn’t be downgrading, and with a starting point in negotiations of €20m that could be talked down, there is a deal to be made.
