Manchester United are one of the many clubs who are interested in signing Lucas Lima for the next year, one of his representatives has revealed.

Speaking to Turkish outlet Skorer (via Haber Turk), Riccardo Badia wasn’t any afraid of telling all the sides who have been following the Santos midfielder: “There’s competition for Inter. Roma, Manchester United and Barcelona are also interested. However, the player himself feels more ready for Serie A”.

After years of speculation about a departure, Lucas Lima’s contract with Santos is finally coming to an end in December, so he can already sign a pre-agreement with whoever he wants.

“Lucas’ contract ends on December 31st. For several years the important clubs of Europe are following him. Crystal Palace 15, Fenerbahce 20 million euros in offers, but strangely Santos rejected them”, Badia said.

But things are still far from solved.

He has an offer to extend his stay at Santos on the table, and from what the Brazilian press has been saying, a move to a club like Inter Milan or Fenerbahce is more likely, while Manchester United were never really mentioned by the local press.

There are also a couple of Brazilian clubs keeping an eye on the midfielder, but he has never hidden the desire to play abroad and this should be the perfect opportunity in case a bid shows up.

Lucas Lima would obviously say yes in case a Manchester United offer comes to him, but we all know how Brazilian agents like to draw attention when mentioning the Red Devils as an interested side, so we won’t buy this story for now.
