Chelsea and Manchester United have ‘enquired’ about Barcelona fullback Sergiño Dest.

That’s according to Monday’s Sport, who state the 21-year-old is not included in Xavi Hernández’s plans.

The manager has made it clear to the right-back, through words and gestures, he is not in his plans, as he was left out of the squad to face Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Xavi has informed the player that he ‘must leave now’. Due to the current situation, the USMNT defender will have to find a new club before the window closes.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United are in the picture to sign him.

Dest was initially reluctant to leave, but his absence from the squad and Xavi’s warnings have made him change his mind, meaning he has opened the door to make a move away from the Camp Nou.

The newspaper states Chelsea and Manchester United have asked about his situation, but neither of them have taken a definitive step to sign the ex-Ajax man.

A ‘confidencial’ report from Sport say Barcelona want €20m for the American and are aware it is difficult to make a good sale operation with Dest, without being devalued, at this stage of the window.

Therefore, a ‘loan solution’ is no longer ruled out if Dest is comfortable with it.

There are teams that want him, but it needs to be seen whether these clubs will take step to sign the player.
