Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has been offered to Manchester United as part of a deal to take Paul Pogba back to Turin.

The French midfielder is extremely likely to leave Juve this summer, just a year after arriving on a free transfer from PSG.

His relationship with the club has soured in recent weeks after he was forced to take a pay cut, while they have been unimpressed with his apparent unwillingness to return to early from isolation, despite several of his teammates doing so.

Juve are therefore looking for a way they can use him to their benefit, and their idea is to make him a bargaining chip for players they want this summer report L’Equipe.

Chief among them is Pogba, with Fabio Paratici hoping to include Rabiot as part of the deal to bring down Manchester United’s asking price, which is estimated to be around €80m.

Rabiot and his mother Veronique, who acts as his agent, are not opposed to moving to England, and there is ‘mutual interest with Manchester United’.

Whether United would be interested in signing him as part of a deal for Pogba isn’t mentioned but it is claimed that Juventus are ‘on the verge’ of re-signing him.

That seems unlikely given United have long made it clear they don’t want to see Pogba leave and don’t have to sell as they have an option to extend his deal, which expires next summer.

It’s a deal that makes sense, though.

They would still get a significant fee for Pogba and a replacement in the bargain, although it is of course dependant on the Frenchman choosing to return to Italy and not push for a move to Real Madrid.
