Manchester United are interested in signing Ajax fullback Nicolas Tagliafico, according to claims from the player’s country.
AS Argentina claims the 28-year-old is the Red Devil’s alternative for Sergio Reguilon, who ended up joining Tottenham Hotspur on a five-year deal.
The Old Trafford side are now said to be looking for another left-back, and have Tagliafico along with Alex Telles on their wish-list.
AS don’t have a lot more to say, other than stating United ‘activate interest’ in the player. They don’t even make it clear if Manchester United have already made an approach for the signing or not, and don’t seem to have an idea of how much the player would cost.
All they say is that the Old Trafford side should have competition from PSG, who are also considering the signing of Tagliafico due to Juan Bernat’s injury.
Tagliafico has a contract with Ajax running until 2022, and is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €28m. He’s been continually linked with Premier League clubs, without it ever feeling like there’s anything concrete.
