Over the past couple of weeks, the Italian media has constantly linked Joao Cancelo with a move to Manchester City.

Two days ago, we carried a report from Tuttosport, who explained the right-back is ‘step away’ from signing for the Premier League winners and the deal could be concluded within a week.

Calciomercato has an update from this morning about the Portugal international’s future, and they are of the belief it’s more likely to be away from his current employer.

The Old Lady are all but set to announce Chelsea’s Maurizio Sarri as their new manager and the incoming coach of the Turin club does not want the defender for purely tactical reasons.

Sarri is of the belief the 25-year-old will not suit his style of football, which is why he has asked the Serie A winners to offload the player in the summer transfer window.

The report explains it’s a priority for Juve to sell Cancelo.

Therefore, it was one of the main reasons their director of football Fabio Paratici travelled to England, to discuss with Pep Guardiola’s side about the player.

It’s claimed to be a ‘work in progress’ to close Cancelo’s sale to Pep Guardiola’s side.
