Since the end of the last season, the Turin media has been worried about the chances of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Juventus this summer.
The departure hasn’t happened yet, but the final days of the transfer window promise to be pretty busy, so all possibilities are still on the table.
Newspaper Tuttosport writes about this saga, and when analysing the situation, there are two scenarios in which Manchester City get a mention.
They first talk about the options Juventus would have in case Ronaldo really leaves. The ‘first name on the list’ is said to be Gabriel Jesus, who’s labelled as ‘young, strong and talented’.
The Brazilian is said to be a name agreed between manager Massimiliano Allegri and Federico Cherubini, who’s responsible for the Old Lady’s transfer market.
Then at the end of the story, they mention that even though Pavel Nedved has claimed that Ronaldo is staying at the club, there are ‘rumours’ that his agent Jorge Mendes has been in touch with Manchester City’s board. So that’d be their star going the other way.
Those seem to be very separate stories, and that’s why Tuttosport doesn’t even mention the possibility of a swap. Since the rumours have already been around for the entire summer, the chances are seen as low, even though anything could happen in the coming week.
