Jérémy Doku is set to wear the number 11 shirt at Manchester City, with a plan ‘scheduled’ for him to fly over for a medical and complete his move from Rennes.

That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who says the Belgian is set to travel to the Etihad and become Manchester City’s latest addition.

Reports have linked City with a move for Doku over the past few weeks, with them needing to strengthen Pep Guardiola’s squad following a series of big departures this summer.

The Citizens are particularly short in wide areas after Riyad Mahrez departed for Saudi Arabia and Doku is the man that they have targeted.

Reports in England and Belgium have indicated the Premier League champions are close to securing a deal with Rennes and Tavolieri indicates there is a confidence it will be completed.

According to his information, a private plane has already been ‘scheduled’ for later this afternoon to fly Doku to England from France, presumably to complete a medical and sign his contract at the Etihad.

The plan if for the winger to wear the number 11 shirt for City, which has been vacant since Oleksandr Zinchenko moved to Arsenal.

The fact that has already been lined up for him is further proof of Manchester City’s confidence a deal is close and Doku will be joining this summer.
