Following initial reports of Manchester City’s interest in Lyon winger Bradley Barcola, it seems this chase is now going forward.

Journalist Gianluigi Longari writes on Twitter that there’s been ‘fresh contact’ between the clubs for the transfer.

It’s claimed that he’s ‘one’ of the targets Manchester City have in the summer window, as they continue to try to replace Riyad Mahrez.

For now, there’s no information on how much Pep Guardiola’s side are willing to spend on the transfer.

Just yesterday, the French media had been speaking of Manchester City’s quest. It was claimed that besides Barcelona, they also have Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and Rennes’ Jeremy Doku in thsi list.

Regarding the Lyon player, it was claimed that it’d be tough to get him signed his summer. His club already turned down a €30m+ offer from Paris Saint German, and would continue to show resistance in case a bid from England arrived.

So even though Barcola is only valued by Transfermarkt at €20m, these fresh talks may show that Manchester City will need spend at least double that to get him signed.
