First said to be on his way to Saudi Arabia to team up with Cristiano Ronaldo again, Eric Bailly now looks more likely to be leaving Manchester United for Turkey.

That’s according to multiple reports across Europe, who state Besiktas are edging closer to signing the defender, who would see his contract at Old Trafford terminated to facilitate the move.

NTV Spor in Turkey have an update on the situation, where they reveal that the player has already agreed a contract with the Süper Lig club, and his wages are quite surprising.

When he was loaned at Marseille in France, it was estimated that he was earning around €450k/month, which equates to €5.4m/year.

Well, it appears Bailly is so desperate to leave Manchester United that he is ready to accept a hefty wage cut, as he will more than halve his wages to play in Turkey.

NTV reveal that the Ivory Coast international has ‘reached an agreement’ for a three-year contract with Besiktas, who are now waiting for news from England regarding the terminating of the deal.

Seeing as they will not pay a transfer fee, they were able to give him good wages, and will pay him €2.2m a year.

Still a nice amount of money, but certainly far from what he is currently earning at Manchester United.
