Manchester City have seen a late bid to snatch Reinier from under the noses of Real Madrid rejected by the player.

Reinier is one of the hottest prospects in Brazilian football and has been linked with a move to all the big clubs in Europe.

Real Madrid are leading the race for his signature, and have a deal in place with both the player and his club, but so far a contract hasn’t been signed.

That means he could still move somewhere else and according to Defensa Central, Manchester City made a last-minute bid to take him to the Etihad.

The website state Madrid have been working on getting Reinier signed up and have ‘everything agreed’ with both Flamengo and the player.

He will sign on January 19th, when he turns 18 and has agreed a deal that will see him sign a six and a half year deal worth €2m-a-year at the club.

However, Manchester City made a ‘final sprint’ and ‘desperate movements’ to try and get the player.

They bettered Real Madrid’s offer and proposed a contract that would see Reinier earn €3m a year, €1m more than Madrid were proposing.

Unfortunately for them, the youngster ‘flatly rejected’ this offer as he has his heart set on a move the Bernabéu and dreams of playing for the Spanish giants.
