Marko Grujic impressed during his loan spell at Hertha Berlin, despite struggling with ankle injuries on various occasions during the course of the 2018/19 season.

Last month, Hertha’s sport director Michael Preetz admitted he will call Jurgen Klopp to see if they can keep the midfielder for one more season, while reports in Turkey suggested that Galatasaray are interested in the 23-year-old.

On June 20th, the Liverpool Echo stated the former Cardiff City loanee will not be included in the Reds’ plans for next season, which is why the Champions League winners are hoping he could find a new club before the start of preseason.

It’s further claimed the Merseyside club will only allow the Serbia international go out on a temporary deal as they do not want to sanction his sale in the summer transfer window.

German outlet Deich Stube claim Werder Bremen can sign the player on loan, and a decision on this transfer could be taken next week.

Atletico Madrid were interested in Grujic, but having signing Marcos Llorente from Real Madrid they are unlikely to chase the former.

It’s once again explained that Hertha are keen on signing him, but after having acquired Eduard Löwen’s services, it seems difficult for them to have the Liverpool owned midfielder for one more season.

Though a move to Galatasaray will help him play in the Champions League, the ex-Red Star Belgrade man has no intention of playing in Turkey.

Deich Stube claim Werder Bremen manager Florian Kohfeldt’s ‘good relationship’ with the former Borussia Dortmund boss ‘could help’ them in signing Grujic on a temporary deal.

Though the report suggests there is a growing feeling the Serbian will join Werder Bremen, the loan deal is still far from being finalised.
