Leeds United have dropped to the relegation zone following their 1-0 defeat to Everton at the weekend.

The Whites’ also have issues off the pitch as they have still not appointed Jesse Marsch’s permanent successor, more than two weeks after sacking the American.

Leeds continue their search for a new manager and now ‘think’ of Javi Gracia.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the English club have ‘already started talks’ with the Spaniard over the possibility of replacing Marsch at Elland Road.

The 52-year-old isn’t the only candidate, but the report says he would be ‘well positioned’ to be the next Leeds manager. If Gracia ends up at Leeds, it would be his second outing in the Premier League after his spell at Watford between January 2018 and September 2019.

Prior to looking at the Spaniard, Leeds tried signing Rayo Vallecano manager Andoni Iraola and Feynoord’s Arne Slot. Both clubs refused to let their coaches leave them for the Whites.

Leeds won’t face similar issues with Gracia since he has been without a job since leaving Qatari side Al Sadd in 2022.
