AMK Spor claim Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim has told the club’s board to sign Leicester City’s Shinji Okazaki.

The Japanese striker has been linked with a move to the Turkish side in recent weeks and AMK Spor report Terim wants the Galatasaray directors to sign Okazaki as he believes the player could have an especially positive impact for the second half of the season.

Galatasaray have made it their priority to bring in a forward in the new year after failing to replace Bafa Gomis in the last transfer window. Okazaki will become a free agent at the end of the season and Galatasaray are hoping to use his contract situation to their advantage.

At the weekend he started his first Premier League game of the season during Leicester City’s draw against Brighton, but AMK Spor say he’s still expected to leave the Foxes.

It’s claimed the Galatasaray board will now make efforts to sign the 32 year old and that they are hoping to confirm the transfer.

The former Mainz striker has made 8 appearances for Leicester City this season.
