Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder is still ‘full of resentment’ about Erik ten Hag taking Lisandro Martinez and Antony with him to Manchester United.

That’s according to journalist Henk Spaan, who also believes the biggest loss to the Eredivisie side was however the Manchester United manager.

Ten Had made the move to Old Trafford in the summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s permanent replacement following Ralf Rangnick’s unsuccessful caretaker spell.

He quickly set about reshaping the squad he had inherited and that included targeting his former club, securing moves for Martinez and later Antony.

Both have quickly established themselves in Manchester and are enjoying success, something that cannot be said about their former club.

They struggled to replace the pair in the summer, with their replacements yet to prove that they can fill the whole left behind.

Alfred Schreuder is also struggling to live up to the level set by his predecessor, and Spaan believes there’s some resentment towards the Manchester United boss.

“Schreuder is still full of resentment about the sale of Antony and Martinez,” he told Het Parool, relayed by MSN.

“Of course, Ajax suffers from the loss of a number of basic players, but most of all Ajax suffers from the loss of Erik ten Hag.”
