As Tottenham Hotspur continue to be heavily linked to Italian managers, the local media in Italy keeps bringing updates on the moves made by Spurs.
Earlier today, we covered a story with the London side being pointed out as the ‘hottest possibility’ for Maurizio Sarri, despite the competition from Arsenal.
Now it seems Tottenham are working on other fronts as well, because according to more claims today, they’ve been in touch with Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
The news comes from agent Massimo Brambati, who was interviewed by Tutto Mercato Web Radio.
When speaking about the coach, he claimed there are two clubs who could take him from the Serie A side this summer.
“Tottenham and Munich contacted him. At Atalanta he found the ideal environment, but going to London might be worth more,” said Brambati.
“I know he spoke to Ancelotti, who advised him to go there, his football would be exalted. For what he did at Atalanta is strange to me that he still hasn’t had the chance to make the big leap.”
Gaspererini has been charge of Atalanta since 2016, and with one more great campaign in Serie A this season, it’d be no surprise to see him heading somewhere else in the summer.
He and Sarri are only two of the many Italian managers who have been linked to Tottenham lately, as the likes of Antonio Conte and Simone Inzaghi have been recently named in stories as well.
