Netherlands coach Danny Blind has called up Swansea City midfielder Leroy Fer and Middlesbrough’s Marten de Roon. The Dutch play Luxembourg at the weekend, but after last night’s friendly the squad has been hit by a number of injuries.

Voetbal International have revealed Blind has called up the two Premier League players to his squad following several withdrawals. Jeremain Lens, Stijn Schaars and Vincent Janssen all left the Netherlands training camp this morning after they picked up injuries during the 1-1 draw with Belgium, and therefore won’t be involved in Sunday’s game.

De Roon was part of Blind’s pre-selection squad, but the Middlesbrough star didn’t do enough to impress the Dutch boss. The 25-year-old has yet to play for his country, but has represented them at youth level.

The Dutchman has been impressive for his club this season, and was on hand to score against Manchester City last weekend in his side’s 1-1 draw.

Fer is no stranger to the national side after he made his debut for the Netherlands in 2010. However, the former QPR player has only made 10 appearances for the Oranje in the past 6 years.
