In one of the surprising deals of deadline day, Chelsea managed to sign Denis Zakaria from Juventus.

The Blues announced the midfielder’s arrival on a loan until the end of the season with an option to buy, which according to reports from the Italian media, is of €28m.

Zakaria hadn’t been getting lots of playing time at Juventus, and that’s why Chelsea managed to take him out of the Old Lady on a potentially permanent deal.

So when holding a press conference today, Bianconeri manager Massimiliano Allegri obviously addressed to the transfers done this week, and when speaking about the 25-year-old, he claimed the player really wanted to leave.

“There was this possibility, he felt confined and accepted Chelsea with great enthusiasm. I wish him and Arthur a big good luck. They are two excellent players, we made some choices and they are happy. We completed the squad in the best possible way,” Allegri told the local media (via Tutto Mercato Web).

Chelsea spent €282m in the summer market, with Zakaria being the only played who arrived on a loan.

The Blues also made the purchases of Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gabriel Slonina.

Today, we also saw defender Thiago Silva revealing to the Brazilian media that he tried to convince the club of signing Lucas Paquetá, who ended up moving to West Ham United.
