While Kurt Zouma might still be playing for West Ham United despite his off the pitch troubles, he won’t be featuring for France in the upcoming international friendlies.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who have some information about who will be called up by Didier Deschamps to face Ivory Coast and South Africa towards the end of March.
Alphonse Aréola is expected to be there as the number three goalkeeper, and he will be the only West Ham player on that list.
RMC Sport explain that Zouma ‘will not be kept’ after the video released where he was seen hitting his cat; an act that Deschamps ‘condemned’ at the time, and one he has now acted on, allowing Raphaël Varane to return to the squad.
Whether the West Ham player will ever feature for France again, at least under the current manager, remains to be seen, but his appearance in the 2-0 win over Finland in the World Cup qualifiers last November could be the last cap he gets in a long time.
