When Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho picked up an ankle injury this month, that issue didn’t only mean a lot for the Red Devils, but also for Argentina, who were just about to see him debut for the national team.

The South American country had been in a tussle with Spain to have the 18-year-old playing for them, and despite calling him up, they had to delay his arrival until he’s recovered.

It turns out that Garnacho should actually get a new chance to represent Argentina, because as written by Bolavip, the Manchester United player is expected to play at the U-20 World Cup.

The Albiceleste hadn’t qualified for the tournament, but they’ve now been chosen as the host country, and that automatically gives them a spot.

Bolavip writes that there are two reasons why Garnacho should be there. Firstly, because all clubs are forced to let their youngsters go to the competition, so Manchester United couldn’t block him. Then, they quote journalist Gaston Edul claiming his ankle injury wouldn’t stop him from featuring in late May.

So it’s now of a matter of waiting for the call-up and seeing if the Red Devils starlet will be there.
