Alavés are keen to keep Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri at the club next season, and he has indicated he is happy to stay in Spain.

That’s according to El Correo, who say the La Liga side plan to sit down for talks with Manchester United to get a deal done.

The newspaper explains that Pellistri, who has been with Alavés since January after joining Manchester United in October last year, has ‘shown his willingness’ to stay at the club next season.

Alavés are likewise keen for him to continue, believing that Pellistri is ‘on the verge of his explosion’ as a top-flight player.

They, therefore, intend to sit down with Manchester United to discuss another deal, and their hope is ‘tie up’ everything in the coming weeks.

United are likely to be happy to loan him out, having already informed the player’s representatives that he will not have a place in their squad next season.

They want to loan him out again, and Alavés are working to ‘secure his presence’ in their squad for next season.

They are aware there is competition for his signature, but Pellistri’s ‘desire to stay’ at the club could ‘weigh heavily’ in Manchester United’s thinking.

One issue could be those in charge at Old Trafford demanding more on an economic level, having allowed Pellistri to join Alavés without the Spanish side paying all of his wages.

They may want to change that next year, so everything is pending a ‘definitive negotiation’ between the two clubs.

Alavés are keen nonetheless, considering Pellistri a ‘different kind of player’ who offers ‘quality, explosiveness and good ball control’ and can continue to develop and contribute at Mendizorroza next season.
