As Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg today brings some details on the race for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, he features interesting information on interest from Manchester United in the player.

It starts with him saying that the Red Devils have the 19-year-old as their ‘transfer target number one’. It’s said the Old Trafford side ‘scouted him a lot’, and as Erik ten Hag ‘wants him’, they expect him to cost around €150m.

There are, however, two major problems there. One is said to be Financial Fair Play.

The other is the competition from Manchester City and Liverpool, and that’s enough for Plettenberg to claim that Manchester United’s chances in the race are ‘low’.

In more optimistic news, however, there are a few clubs which are considered to be out of the race. Those are Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain, who are said to have ‘hardly any chances’.

So if Manchester United need to beat some competition to land Bellingham next year, it seems their main rivals are their opponents from the Premier League.

As for the €150m claim, that seems a rather ambitious asking price.
