Argentine newspaper Ole cannot emphasise enough how much Sergio Aguero wants to play in one of the two friendlies during the current international break.
The Manchester City player is ‘dying inside’ with the urge to play, and ‘dying to play a few minutes’ but it’s looking increasingly unlikely.
Ole explain that Aguero is especially keen to impress because he’s ‘at home’, with Argentina using Manchester City’s facilities, but he ‘almost didn’t move’ when out for training on Tuesday.
The country’s manager Jorge Sampaoli doesn’t want to risk anything, and it’s explained that he especially doesn’t want to annoy Manchester City, wishing to keep a good relationship with the Premier League club.
With Aguero still not able to train fully due to his knee problem, he’s already ruled out of the match against Italy on Friday, and could also miss the friendly against Spain.
Sampaoli doesn’t need to be convinced by Aguero, he’ll be going to the World Cup if fit, so whilst Aguero is bursting with a desire to play, it’s unlikely Argentina will pick him unless the situation changes between now and the Spain match.
