Having previously been heavily linked with Manchester United, it’s Manchester City’s turn to be linked with Benoit Badiashile.

This comes after Newcastle held some talks with AS Monaco about a potential move this weekend, but the player’s injury against Nantes on Sunday may have scuppered that deal.

Manchester City, however, aren’t in that much of a rush, perhaps happy to wait until the summer to get a transfer sorted, but their interest is there nonetheless.

RMC Sport are the ones reporting it, explaining that both West Ham and Pep Guardiola’s side have joined the Magpies, and are ‘monitoring the situation’.

However, it’s made very clear that Manchester City ‘will only move in case of a Nathan Aké departure’.

The Dutchman, who has been helping out at left-back of late, has been linked with a transfer away from the Etihad in January, as he appears to be on a list of targets in Milan, who are looking for someone to help out while Simon Kjaer recovers from a severe injury.
