It wouldn’t be a transfer window without Nahitan Nández being linked with a club in the Premier League, and Tottenham are the chosen one on Tuesday.

It certainly isn’t the first time the Uruguay international has been linked with a move to Spurs, but the rumour mill surrounding the versatile midfielder has certainly calmed down of late.

That being said, Cagliari focused website Centrotrentuno remind their readers on Tuesday that Tottenham aren’t to be forgotten when it comes to potential destinations for the player when looking at his future.

The Serie A side are more and more open to getting a deal done these days, with the website claiming ‘the wall seems to have dropped further’.

Cagliari are now said to be ‘ok with the loan and above all ok with the simple option to buy’.

The hope here is that a good set of performances elsewhere ‘could lead to the definitive purchase or in any case to a revaluation of his transfer, now very far from the €36m of the famous clause’.

Inter and Napoli are touted as potential destinations for that, but ‘Tottenham should not be overlooked’, even if they make it clear that a move to England ‘is not at the top of Nández’s preferences’.

It’s the first club on that list who remain ‘in the front row’, both ‘for a clear and defined interest, and above all because they are the preferred option’ of the player himself.

As for when a transfer can happen, that’s believed to be anytime, as Cagliari ‘would not veto a sale in the last days of January’.
