The Portuguese press brings mixed claims regarding the future of Manchester City right-back Pedro Porro today.

An optimistic story comes from newspaper A Bola, who says that the player’s loan to Sporting is ‘almost concluded’.

They say Porro is being loaned to the Lions for one year, and the move should be made official after the end of the Portuguese league this weekend.

Sporting’s only spendings will be to split the player’s salary with Manchester City, and according to the report, there’ll be no option to sign him permanently at the end of the spell.

The Portuguese press, in general, have been certain that this transfer is happening, but, newspaper O Jogo brings a different take on this story today.

They say this transfer for the Manchester City player is ‘on standby’ since it’s still not certain that Sporting will finish third in the league and guarantee a spot in the Europa League group stage for the next season.

A place in the European competition was one of the arguments used by the Lions to convince Porro of a move, and in case they don’t achieve that, then the scenario for this transfer would change.
