Over the past month or so, the Italian press have been looking at Fiorentina in detail, as many questions marks continue to linger surrounding the future of some of their employees.

Their manager’s contract, for example, has yet to be renewed, and there has been talk of Eusebio di Francesco taking over from Stefano Pioli at the end of the season.

Another matter they need to address is what happens to a lot of their loanees, including West Ham’s Edimilson Fernandes.

Unable to find a spot in Manuel Pellegrini’s plans at the London Stadium, the Switzerland international swapped England’s capital for Florence, where he has enjoyed himself this season.

The general consensus in the Italian press is that he’s done just about enough to warrant Fiorentina spending €9m or so to trigger his view to buy clause, but that hasn’t been done yet.

However, should the Italian side fail to do so, the West Ham midfielder could find another landing spot, this time in France.

According to Le10 Sport, Lyon are taking an interest in Fernandes as they look for a potential Tanguy Ndombélé replacement.

There’s nothing serious in this just yet, as the Ligue 1 side are just drawing up a list of players capable of taking over the France international’s role should he leave for greener pastures.

Le10 finish their article by stating Lyon will continue to monitor the West Ham man’s situation up until the end of the season and could take a more concrete look at a deal then.
