Tottenham are demanding a discount from Juventus if they are to sign Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent basis from Juventus this summer.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say that a recent meeting in London between the two clubs ended in Tottenham making it clear they only want to pay another €20m for the Sweden star.

They explain that Juventus’ Giovanni Manna went on a ‘recent blitz’ in London to negotiate with Chelsea over Dusan Vlahovic and Tottenham for Kulusevski.

The latter has been on loan with Spurs since January last year and they would have been obliged to buy him permanently this summer if they had qualified for the Champions League.

That never happened and so his fee is now freely negotiable, and Tottenham want a discount on the fees previously agreed if they are to sign Kulusevski on a permanent basis.

They have already paid €10m for the initial loan deal and in their meeting with Manna they ‘made it clear’ they don’t intend to spend more than €30m in total for him.

That leaves Juventus at something of a crossroads as they need to decide whether to accept this stance or look around and try and find a different destination for the forward.

The player’s wishes will also play into negotiations, with Tottenham making their stance clear and now waiting to see how Juventus move forwards.
