Liverpool have become the latest Premier League side to keep tabs on FC Midtjylland star Gustav Isaksen.

Towards the end of last month, Calciomercato.it stated the winger is in the sights of Arsenal, Newcastle United and West Ham United.

Liverpool have now been thrown into the mix, along with Ajax, Atalanta, Benfica and Bayer Leverkusen, in a report today from Ekstra Bladet.

The 21-year-old has been impressive for Midtjylland this season, scoring seven goals and registering three assists in all competitions. However, he was unable to help his side beat FC Nordsjælland in the league on Monday.

Midtjylland settled for a goalless draw at the MCH Arena, where Liverpool were among a few clubs to have scouts in attendance to ‘take a closer look’ at the two clubs in action. Their attention ‘has undoubtedly been’ on the Denmark U21 international.

It’s not clear whether Isaksen has managed to impress Liverpool and other clubs.

If Jürgen Klopp’s side are keen to add the player to their squad in January, it is possible by paying a fee of over €20m to the Danish club.

This was confirmed by Midtjylland CEO Claus Steinlein earlier this week.

In addition to this, their director of football, Svend Graversen, has revealed Isaksen will change clubs in the coming windows.
