It seems like the European media manage to find a new midfielder to link to Liverpool every single day.

Yet to replace Georginio Wijnaldum following his decision to leave the Reds on a free and head over to Paris Saint-Germain, the Anfield side have been named alongside many names, including Franck Kessié.

The Ivory Coast international’s contract at Milan runs out in the summer, presenting many clubs around Europe with a great opportunity to sign a dominating player for no transfer fee.

However, he isn’t the only one, with Marcelo Brozović in the same situation at Inter.

That’s why it isn’t all that surprising to see Liverpool being thrown into the mix for the Croatian, as Calciomercato look at what is going on at San Siro.

Brozovic’s ‘priority is for Inter’, but the club have yet to meet his renewal demands of around €6m/year, meaning a door is slowly opening for teams willing to offer him more.

That’s where Liverpool coming, described as being among ‘several sides entering this scenario, ready to seize the opportunity’, alongside Paris Saint-Germain, and most recently Barcelona following some claims in the Catalan press.

Whether all this is to ‘flush out Inter and try to accelerate the turning point on the extension’ remains to be seen, but there’s no denying the Anfield club do need a new midfielder, and Brozović would fit that bill.
