Liverpool star Cody Gakpo is set to pay a little visit to his former club PSV, according to the Dutch media.

Eindhovens Dagblad (via Sport Nieuws) reports that the attacker is set to say farewell to the fans of the Eredivisie side.

Gakpo is expected to be at the Philips Stadium on Thursday evening, when PSV will face Sevilla in the Europa League tie.

It’s pointed out that Gakpo had no time to give the fans a farewell, since he was sold to Liverpool after the World Cup and during the winter break. So that’s set to happen now.

Liverpool are playing Real Madrid on Tuesday evening in the Champions League, and then face Crystal Palace in London on Saturday. So besides this unusual trip to his former club, it’s also interesting that Gakpo will have all this time off between two important games, unless he makes it a very quick trip.

The Reds paid PSV €42m to sign the winger in the January transfer window. He has eight appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far, and despite a slow start, scored in their last two Premier League matches.
