Luis Diaz’s head may now be on Liverpool’s match against Everton at the weekend, but his last performance for Colombia is still a big subject in his home country.

The winger missed a penalty in the draw against Ecuador this week, and after big criticism, he last night put a post on Instagram saying ‘sometimes you have to fall to get up and try again’.

The Colombian media seems to have his back, and today, Marca features a story about all the support the Liverpool player has been getting.

The outlet writes about the ‘strong defence’ Diaz has been getting from national team captain James Rodriguez and all his teammates at the national team.

Marca gathers all the positive comments on Diaz’s posts, and also highlights that Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp welcomed him ‘with affection’ at Liverpool following the international break.

Colombia currently stand 5th in the South American World Cup qualifiers, with six teams getting straight qualification for the tournament, so it’s very likely all that drama will be forgotten by the next time he plays for the country.
