Newcastle United youngster Yankuba Minteh is pushing Feyenoord towards the Eredivisie title this season, and the stats are bearing that out.

That’s according to Voetbal International, relayed by FR Fans, who cover the club today and how his loan deal is working out very positive so far.

Minteh joined Newcastle in an €8m deal from Odense BK this summer but was immediately loaned out to Feyenoord to get regular playing time and establish himself in Europe.

He’s been a regular for the Dutch side so far, featuring in 50% of the available minutes in the league and Champions League and managing three goals and one assist to date.

Those are good numbers, but it is his ability with the ball which is really making the difference according to VI.

They explain that with 103 successful dribbles in the Eredivisie so far, Feyenoord are topping the charts in the Netherlands and only Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Wolves have managed more in Europe’s top six leagues.

They’ve been helped in that by Minteh, whose dribbles ‘can be crucial’ for Feyenoord moving forwards according to the newspaper.

Their data analysis shows that teams with the best dribblers have the ‘greatest chance’ of winning and this has been shown by Pep Guardiola’s love of dribblers at Manchester City.

This has also been seen at Feyenoord previously when their success in the Conference League was built on the explosive dribbling of Luis Sinisterra.

Minteh is the man chosen to replace him this season and he’s providing ‘two important advantages’ for his side; his ability to score goals himself and the chances he creates for other players.

His presence is already helping Feyenoord to score ‘more easily’ than in the past two years and the decision to bring him in from Newcastle appears to be working well for all involved up to now.
