Feyenoord defender Quilindschy Hartman “absolutely cannot say no to” Manchester City, if they or other big clubs were to come calling for him in the January transfer window.

That’s according to journalist Marciano Vink, who believes the defender is currently playing at a level that could lead to a departure in the winter window.

The 21-year-old has been impressing for the Dutch side this season, with three assists in eight games in the Eredivisie and a series of impressive performances under his belt.

He and champions Feyenoord are currently fourth in the table but just four points behind leaders PSV Eindhoven and looking likely to be title contenders once again this year.

That’s naturally earning him and several other players plenty of attention, with a growing belief that he could be one of the next players to leave the Netherlands for a step up.

Vink can certainly see a big club coming in for him if he continues as he has started, and states that he wouldn’t be able to turn down the likes of Manchester City.

“That boy is in such a flow,” he told Voetbalpraat, relayed by Feyenoord Pings.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if a big club comes at the end of the season. But maybe even during the winter break, you don’t know. If you show it in Europe against Atlético Madrid and the whole of Europe will talk about you…

“It depends on the club and the perspective. Suppose your first left back could be at Real Madrid or Manchester City. Those are clubs you absolutely cannot say no to.

“You don’t say no to A-category clubs. If he continues to play like this at Feyenoord in the Champions League and if he continues to play like this for the Dutch national team… Lesser players have gone to good clubs.”

Whether Manchester City would make a move for the left-back remains to be seen, although the left-back is one they’re currently short in.

Sergio Gomez is the only recognised left-back in the squad at present, but Pep Guardiola has been using the likes of Josko Gvardiol and Nathan Ake in the role as part of a three man system instead.

A move for Hartman would therefore make sense so it might be one to keep an eye on if he continues to shine in the Netherlands this season.
