This week, some reports from Spain and England have been talking about Liverpool’s interest in signing Iker Muniain from Athletic Club Bilbao.

Two days ago Marca reported Liverpool had already made some kind of offer, presumably to the player.

As the Basque club are said to be having a hard time negotiating a new contract with the 25-year-old, several interested clubs are starting to follow the process in hope of a chance to land him.

Now El Gol Digital comes up with a reaction to these claims, saying that Real Betis are also following the case. But not because they are interested in Muniain.

It’s said that Betis are actually keen on Xherdan Shaqiri, and Muniain’s arrival at Anfield could mean that manager Jurgen Klopp would let the Swiss international leave the club.

Shaqiri has only recently joined the Reds, with only nine appearances for the club so far. And since El Gol Digital loves stories that don’t make much sense, we’ll just sit and wait to see how things develop.
