Valencia’s regional Plaza Deportiva report on Wednesday evening that Liverpool and Valencia are getting close to a deal for Luis Alberto, and they reckon the Spanish club are getting their way.

It’s explained that Liverpool had wanted €6m for Luis Alberto, and had already turned down an offer of €5m from Watford. That went the same way as a Sevilla offer of €3m, and a Valencia one for even less than that.

Plaza Deportiva say talks between Liverpool and Valencia have continued and now the clubs are closer together. It’s claimed that Liverpool are now ready to accept €3m for the 23 year old.

The whole basis of the drop is that Luis Alberto only has a year left on his Liverpool contract and could sign up with a club in January ahead of a free transfer. Therefore, it would be Liverpool looking to rush a move through.

However, Transfermarkt state the Spaniard’s contract runs until June 2018, which would make a mockery of Plaza Deportiva’s claims. Someone is wrong.
