After A Bola reported the meeting Benfica will hold next week for the signing of Rafael Camacho from Liverpool, newspaper Record comes up with a few details about the process today.

The outlet says that Benfica are not willing to spend much on the signing, so although they’re set to make an offer in this first meeting, they know things won’t go through if Liverpool make big demands.

The Eagles are only holding the meeting after the Reds offered Camacho a new contract, so they know there’s a chance that the deal will look impossible by the time the talks are made.

Still, Benfica consider to have the situation in their favour, since Camacho isn’t getting enough playing time and has a contract expiring next year.

Record say the Lisbon side are not really keen on getting the player on a loan, unless there’s a buying option agreed.

And if the player does sign a contract extension with Liverpool, then he’s likely to demand a loan in the first years of a new contract, as he wants to guarantee more playing time.

Record also claim Liverpool could use the player in a deal for one of their targets at Benfica. The Reds are said to be interested in Ferro, and since the player is protected by a €100m release clause, Camacho could be included in a ‘likely’ attempt.
