In April, the excellently connected Fabian Zerche published a claim for Austria’s Spox that Liverpool had initiated contact over signing Valon Berisha.

After another good season for Red Bull Salzburg, the interest was no surprise, and another unnamed Premier League club were also said to be keen.

Liverpool had contacted Berisha’s management, as well as scouting the player.

Things have gone quiet, but now Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper has an article on possible exits from Red Bull this summer. For Berisha it’s stated that this surely has to be the time he goes, given how much he’s impressed.

It’s explained that even before the last season started there was interest from England. Given all of that, the chances of a transfer are put at 100%, but there’s no mention of what fee Liverpool or anyone else would have to pay.

Meanwhile, it seems the midfielder is a very confident and open guy.

Quoted by Laola1, he was openly annoyed at the weekend not to be chosen as the best player in Austria this season: “I was the league’s second best player last year and this year’s third best player in the league, and I think I deserved to be the best.

“I cannot quite understand why it was Zulj (Peter Zulj, Sturm graz), which must only be known by the Bundesliga.”
