Earlier today, we covered a report from Brazilian outlet UOL which had some details on the race for Fluminense youngster Kayky.

They claimed that Shakhtar Donetsk are in the lead in the tussle to sign the 17-year-old, while Manchester City were seen as outsiders and Liverpool only made contact to get information about a possible deal.

That made the Reds look like the third force in this small battle, but in a report from Netflu, it now looks like the interest is actually a little stronger than that.

They claim that besides initiating contact with the player’s staff, Liverpool also have the idea of offering the teenager a ‘career plan’.

Jurgen Klopp’s side know they have a good relationship with Fluminense due to the transfer of Marcelo Pitaluga last year, and consider this to be an advantage.

Netflu makes it clear that the Reds are still to present an official offer. Kayky is only turning 18 in June, so he needs to wait until the summer to complete a move abroad.
