Liverpool have been left with their ‘mouths watering’ after watching Sporting CP’s Jeremiah St. Juste.

That’s according to Friday’s edition of Record, with the Portuguese newspaper explaining interest from the Reds has grown after they watched the 26-year-old in action against Arsenal.

Sporting knocking Arsenal out of the Europa League, and especially at a time when the Gunners appearing to be racing towards the Premier League title, was always going to bring a greater transfer focus on multiple players at the Lisbon club.

Liverpool have a strong recent record of looking towards the Portuguese market, so it would be no surprise if they do have interest in Sporting players.

Record state the Reds have contacted the player’s entourage, for a transfer chat to find out about St. Juste’s situation at Sporting and his outlook on the future.

Sporting want to keep the central defender, and will feel protected given he has a contract lasting until 2026. Interestingly, his release clause is a relatively reasonable €45m.
